About Carrie
Hello! I know from experience how important it is to find the right lactation consultant. To help you make this decision, here’s a little more information about me.
I began my career in the nonprofit world, helping young adults build meaningful career pathways. After experiencing my own challenges breastfeeding my first child, I developed a deep interest in lactation and a desire to support other families. This led me to make a career change and pursue professional training in lactation consulting.
I completed my lactation education through UC San Diego, where I also completed a portion of my clinical hours. The remainder of my 450+ hours of hands-on clinical training was completed at Methodist Hospital of Sacramento on the mother/baby floor and NICU, giving me a broad range of experience in supporting families through a variety of feeding challenges. I have also completed advanced training through the Oral Habilitation of the Breastfeeding Dyad: A Masterclass for IBCLCs, allowing me to better support babies with tongue ties and other oral restrictions.
My areas of specialty include:
Prenatal breastfeeding education
Support for late preterm infants
Latch and positioning challenges
Low milk supply
Oversupply
Oral restrictions and tongue ties
Returning to work
When I’m not working with families, I enjoy tending to my backyard vegetable garden, baking, reading a good book, and spending time with my husband and two young children.
