FAQ
Questions, answered plainly
The things most people want to know before booking a first visit.
Do you take insurance?
Both insurance and cash pay options are available. After you book and complete the intake forms, the CuraNatal team will verify your insurance before your visit. Home visits include an additional $100 travel fee. For the latest details on insurance coverage, see CuraNatal's FAQ page.
Where do visits take place?
In-home throughout the Greater Sacramento area, in-office in Orangevale, CA at the CuraNatal office, or virtually, whichever fits your family best.
What actually happens at a first visit?
It starts with listening: your history, your goals, and what's actually happening day to day, not just a checklist. From there, a hands-on assessment that includes a weighted feed, a breast assessment, and an infant oral assessment, along with a look at latch and positioning, followed by a personalized support plan built around your family.
Is this care LGBTQIA+ affirming?
Yes. All identities, family structures, and feeding goals are welcome, as a default assumption, not an exception.
When should I reach out, prenatally or after baby arrives?
Both. Prenatal visits build a plan and answer questions before anything feels urgent. Postpartum support is available from the newborn stage through weaning, whenever a challenge comes up, and a check-in visit after delivery can help make sure you're set up for success.
Do virtual visits actually work for feeding issues?
For many concerns, yes, especially follow-ups, supply questions, and return-to-work planning. Hands-on issues like a suspected tongue-tie are usually better assessed in person, and that guidance is part of the first conversation.
